Taking Charge of Your Destiny

How many of you have looked at the statistics for unemployment and/or under-employment recently?? With the 'stated' unemployment numbers hovering around 10% nationwide, that is kind of frightening. I keep hearing that number doesn't take into account those who have been unemployed so long that they've given up, and also those whose unemployment has run out.

It's more important today than ever that we take charge of our life and our destiny. No longer is the 9-5 job the security that it use to be. I remember when i started work in '83 for a large company, i figured that i would probably retire there. That use to be what people did :o) They went to work for a company at a young age, worked hard until it was time to retire, then drew their retirement funds that they had earned all those years of work.

Today, we need to be more in control of our future. How do we do that? A good way is thru networking companies. I've enjoyed several different companies over the years. As a woman, one of my favorite has always been Avon. It's always been kind of looked at as a woman's company, but i'll tell ya, one of the highest earners in my upline is a man :o) The ladies LOVE having and Avon man, for whatever reason :o) He started out just helping his girlfriend, but i really think he enjoys it himself now and they have a thriving business.

Avon's products are 2nd to none and their compensation plan is very good also. They're like the Shopping Channel in that they have an unconditional guarantee on their products. The Anew skin care line is AWESOME, and is being improved and added to continually. Their cutting edge technology keeps them fresh and new, always having something for absolutely everyone, from the very young, to those who are older and love Anew products and the old faithful Skin So Soft.

I've taken this opportunity to throw in a shameless blurb for my business :o) If you're looking for a solid company that's been around for years, to start your own business with? Talk to me :o) It's also wonderful to get a discount on the products that you already use. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find a few other people who love the look of the products you're using and want to try them also! If you're just looking for GREAT skin care and/or make-up products, please talk to me. You won't be sorry.

To our success always,

Terri

The Newbie Entrepreneurial Juggling Act

Do you ever feel like if you take time to breathe, you fall behind in life?? I find myself feeling like that so many times! By the time i've worked my day at work, i'm tired, sometimes frustrated, then come home to try to think about MY business... and there's nothing left. The energy is gone, sometimes i think my MIND is gone.. LOL

I'm not sure how you find the middle ground when you're just trying to start your business... you WANT to grow your business... but you aren't making anywhere near enough money yet to be able to quit the JOB. It's a struggle i haven't figured out yet. I read all these people saying how they make all this money working just a few hours a week. Hopefully, someone is going to show up with the answers to how we keep all the balls in the air at one time :o)

Sorry this is so short... it's late... i'm tired... and the alarm goes off early. The Avon order is in, the Ebay mail is done... and the blog is written. Hopefully i can do more tomorrow night. Any insights are GREATLY appreciated :o)

To our success,

Terri

Sunday.. A Day Off? :o)

Hi everyone!

It's actually EARLIER in the day, and i'm at my computer to blog! I didn't know that even COULD happen! HA! It's always the end of the day and i'm thinking... i've GOT to blog still... siiggghhhh And most times it's been really late! at least for me. I have to be at work Monday - Thursday at 7 am, and i have an hour commute, plus finding parking, etc... so i have to be up early in the mornings. Late nights are NOT my friends any longer.

I use to LOVE staying up late. It always seemed like my most productive, creative hours were after.. 9 pm or so? I'm not sure if it's my age? or just that i have to be up so bloomin' early to get to work on time that's kind of squashed that! LOL

Anyway... back to subject :o) It's Sunday. Has the way you view Sundays as you've gotten a day or 2 older :o) changed any? Sunday, when i was a kid, was a kinda cool day! No school, no agenda really other than to maybe go to my Grandparents (which i LOVED!). It was 'free' time. Then for years when i had 'grown up'?? LOL it turned into a day when i had to do all the things that i didn't have time to do during the work week. i.e. clean house, do some shopping for things i'd need during the next week, take care of the yard, etc.

Now, it had a new focus again. As well as doing all the work week planning, i also have a business that i'm trying to foster and grow... so now i also have to figure out a way to put on my creative hat, try to make it thru all the e-mail and noise there... so many things want my attention!! My stars.. have you noticed HOW MANY people have information to sell us on 'How to...' I talked a little bit about this in my last post... and i've kind of gotten caught up in that again today.. reading.. more information in... but where is my output? I've got to get busy. Right now, Ebay is my Gig... so that's where i'm heading to... right now!! I WILL have listings up by the end of the day and be back to Blog about it :o)

Are you caught up reading posts.. clicking the links in your e-mail that lead you to 'the next idea on what we should be doing' and how to do it?? What is your core business, today? What is it? What can you do, right now, that you ALREADY know how to do :o), that will move your business forward and at least give a chance to make more money TODAY? You've identified it now, so close all other windows except your business... and do what you just said that you KNOW you can do. I am :o) Bookmark my post, and come back and link to your opportunity and share what you've done today in my comments :o)

To our success :o)

Another Week, More Training.. More Action?

Hi there!

It's been another hectic week. I got lost in the rat race and missed 3 nights of blogging :o( I did get to spend some quality time with a friend whom i rarely get to see tho, so that part is good. It's hard for me to take the time away sometimes, but the bottom line is, people are the most important thing in life. I've heard time and again, the line that at the end of life, you never hear someone say 'i wish i would have worked more hours at my job'... it's always 'i wish i had spent more time with family and/or friends.' So... i took that opportunity this week. Now... it's back to work.

I was listening to another training session this morning, and heard again something like.. you can have all the training in the world, but are you putting it to use?

I find myself really guilty of that. I have kept thinking if i only kept reading, kept listening to webinars, kept searching... i would find 'that perfect thing' that would be 'my ticket' so to speak... it would be the thing that would help me get out of my J.O.B. and into making a living working from home.

At this point, i really do have quite a lot of 'learning' in my head... but how much 'action' am i putting into my business? Are they even equal in time spent? I don't think so. I need to start putting more 'action' in there. I'm kind of back to my blog several days ago about 'Just Do the Work' :o) This next week, that will be my goal. I'll be doing more work, less studying for a change. Is it important to study and learn new things? Absolutely! Just don't lose your focus on the action you need to be taking along the way :o)

Please comment and share your thoughts :o)

Rich Entrepreneur? or Poor Entrepreneur?

Good evening!

You know, i was so tired tonight, i almost said... nope, not blogging tonight.. the Challenge will just have to wait. But, i picked up Robert Kiyosaki's book 'The Business of the 21st Century' thinking i'd read a few pages to unwind before i tried to sleep.

One of the categories of people that he speaks of are 'those who dream big dreams, but with no plan on how to go about achieving them, so they end up with nothing'. That struck a cord with me, because i've kind of been one of those people. I always think 'wow! i'd love to do this' or 'wouldn't it be awesome to have THAT house?!' or 'look at this story on this kitty sanctuary! how cool would that be to be able to DO that?!' :o) Think of all the good we could do! :o) But somehow... i never learned how to 'plan'. I'm a firm believer in 'change your thinking, change your life'. I have to put that 'belief' to work.

How about you?? Do you dream the dreams? Do you know how to 'Just Do the Work!'? The other thing that he said that rang true to me is that most people never accomplish their BIG dreams on their own. It takes building a TEAM to do it :o) Want to be part of my team? We can start making dreams come true TODAY! :o) Comment below and/or send me an e-mail :o) I've got to learn how to put my Facebook and Twitter links on here!! LOL Another thing i need to learn how to do!! :o)

To our success :o)

Blogging ~ Just Do The Work!

Hi there!

Here we are again. It's Sunday night... WHERE has the time gone?! I can't believe it's 11 pm, and i've been concerned with my alarm that will go off in the morning at 5:30 to get me up so i can get ready to drive an hour to work.. for.. oh... most of the day?? LOL But there's so many things that need to be done today.. so i don't think a lot about it, i just dig in and start down my 'to do list'. Do you have one of those?? Sometimes i wonder why i do... it seems like kind of a time consuming way to say.. Ter! You never get enough done! You know?? It does keep some degree of order to things tho i guess, in a way.

It's funny... do you ever watch The Biggest Loser?? I do. I'd love to lose some weight... about 30 lbs. and i'd be just pretty happy with myself :o) I love Jillian and i subscribe to her e-mail list. One of her e-mails a couple of days ago was titled 'Just Do The Work!'. I'm also doing the 30 day challenge of Jeanette Cates'.. i'm sure you've figured that out by now :o) I logged into my e-mail tonight, after a FULL DAY of WORK! LOL and there was a note there from her. She was answering someone's note about 'can i go on vacation?' and she was like NO! Just do the work!! Are you seeing the theme here??

Ok... let's break this down a little :o) Let's see.. i got up this morning, went right to work on 'my plan' by signing up with AWeber so i can try to start building my mailing list... oh wait, sorry! i'm not suppose to 'try'... i can still hear Yoda (remember Star Wars? or am i dating myself here?? hehehe) saying 'do, or do not, there is no try' to young Skywalker :o) So, with that in mind, let me start again. I signed up with AWeber so i CAN build my mailing list :o) The first challenge, right out the gate, is that i got an e-mail saying that the class to show me how (remember, i'm slightly computer challenged! lol) to start, is Tuesday at 1 PM ET... great! I'm 50 miles away, in the middle of my work day... siigghhhhhh Ok.. i'm getting off subject tho here, so let me go back. After i get that done, it's time to start fixing lunch for/with my mom, in between the 3 loads of laundry i'm trying to get out on the line to dry. Well the short version is, by the time we finish all that, everyone is fed, clothes are drying.. and i'm thinking Blogging.. business.. should i be working on Ebay? or Avon?? or trying to get my blog in before 11 pm tonight?? it's 4:00, i still have some time.. but energy??? well... not so much.. let me sit down for just a few minutes. I keep hearing Jill in my mind going 'Just do the work!' I'm thinking which part of what i'm doing is NOT work??! LOL ARG!! I mean really... most of what i do is WORK! Then when i came in and read Jeanette's e-mail too... it just kind of made me shake my head and smile :o)

I WILL figure this all out... one small step at a time. Who knows, maybe i'll even get a little work done on my core business (have you heard that term?? that's a 'guru' term i think?? :o) ) this week. I WILL get 10 listings up in my Ebay store, i WILL get the beginnings of my mailing list done. Mondays are crazy at work... what will i blog about tomorrow evening?? I'm not real sure yet... but i WILL be 'Doing The Work' :o)

Until next time, to our success :o)

This is Where We Are - day 5

Ok... i start today, a day behind :o( I missed Blogging last night. I had a full day of business and family, and i let the time get by without doing that part of my assignment. I did learn a lot today!

You know, the hardest thing that i face, is how to juggle everything. I'm so anxious to do... everything. I want to read books, i want to... go to the lake, i want to have some kind of life outside of work. I want to work ebay, i want to learn how to build a business from more than just ebay, and i desperately need to find something that takes less time than what i'm doing in earning a living. How do i stretch my time? or how do i learn what the most important task is.. RIGHT NOW. ? That was why i jumped on board with a coach. But maybe part of the problem is, only i can figure that out? There are just so many things i want to do. I want to help animal rescue, i want to work more with the prison ministry that i'm involved with, i want to work with kids who, if they don't get some mentoring, will end up needing my prison ministry cos that's where they're headed, bless their hearts.

I've heard the 'gurus' say... do what you love! Well there are too many things that i 'love'! LOL Where to start... where to start. A business plan... A mailing list. Lord help me.. :o) For tonight... sleep. I think i'm writing all this in the WRONG Blog.. LOL I need to transfer it to another Blog, and go back to working on what this originally started out to be here... a blog for my store in Ebay, and my Avon web site. The challenge tho, is to write for 30 days, in the SAME Blog. Tomorrow, i'll go back to more information on my Shopping Channel Favorites, and try to get some of this switched over to another Blog and link to it. Comments are welcome. This is a learning experience :o)

For tonight.. poke me, i'm done!! LOL Until next time, may God bless you and keep you.

To our success,

Terri

The Habit of Blogging - Day 3

Hi everyone!

Wow! Still.. what a new experience this is. By the time i get home, get the garden taken care of for the evening, and get something to eat and mom taken care of... there's not much time left (or energy??!) (or creativity? LOL) for Blogging. But i'm giving this a try to see what happens. I'm listening to the advice of my coach, and i'm working on my 'action items'... this is one, another is to start building my list and start building my inventory. I forgot to mention another challenge that i've found already tho... i'll get to that in just a minute. It's just amazing the things that you find out you don't have a CLUE about! It's funny because i used to consider myself pretty computer savvy... i could get around web sites, i knew quite a bit about Excel and Word. Now... in just the last couple of years?? It just seems like everything computer has just left me spinning in the dust :o(

The challenge i met was getting an Avatar for this challenge! First of all, i didn't even know what an Avatar WAS! I just thought it was a movie?! LOL Anyway, I went to the site i was directed to, added the photo i wanted... and was reading how you add it to your sites with e-mail addresses? and it was showing some coding?? Oh my... they were talking Greek to me almost before i started!! LOL I finally gave up and said 'i'll deal with it tomorrow when my brain is fresher.. hopefully!' ha! :o) And last night... i went to Tweet my link? Well the link broke up... so that was a problem too. I cannot think about how many things i have to learn... i just have to keep taking one small step at a time :o) This is what i have to learn, and REMEMBER, with everyone i meet and deal with... we all have our different challenges. What's easy to one person, is a REAL challenge to someone else.

My parting words for tonight are... please be kind and gentle with each other. Have a great night tonight, and a beautiful day Friday :o)

To our success always,
Terri

Until tomorrow night my friends....

Life Changing Secrets? - Day 2

Wow! It's been another long day. I've officially 'signed up' for the 30-day challenge now. I have a feeling that i'll be making some changes to my profile tho, after looking around at some of the other, more 'professional' bloggers and business people. What a learning experience already! I'm anxious to get my J.O.B. finished for this week, so i can have 3 solid days to work on my business, on the blogging, and learning.

This will be a blog with a starting point.. a before and after, so to speak. I'm starting from scratch here :o) When this 30 Day Challenge is over, i hope to be able to show a progression. I'm trying to build a following, build customer base, grow my Ebay business, but also to learn other things, like Affiliate Marketing and how to build a web site of my own. I'm trying to learn how to balance and juggle my J.O.B. with the things that i need to learn to do for business building.

Ebay has just set quietly today, i didn't have time to work on it tonight at all except to process the packages for things that sold today. YEA!! Sales!! :o) I'm hoping to draw more traffic to my Shopping Channel Ebay store, Nubbins_Collection, and also i'm working with Avon. LOVE their Anew skin care products :o) I keep trying to help this 50 yr. old face look younger! LOL

Anyway, i guess i've been fairly successful today. I've gotten my blog post written, i've listened to part of a webinar and what and how i'm suppose to be doing this. I'm also suppose to be learning to go over to Twitter and Tweet. I'm really glad i'll have this to look back on, so when i'm trying to help others learn, i'll remember how time challenged, especially, that i am In The Beginning :o) Please... follow my process... comment.. and i'll see if i can figure out how to comment on my comments!! :o)

Until tomorrow night my friends....
To our success,
Terri

Life Changing Secrets? - Day 1

Hi everyone :o)

Is there anyone out there? That's one of my goals in starting this blog, to see if i really get followers? and comments? It's a 30 day challenge actually.. so this will be record of my progress.. of things i'm trying, of the outcome of those things. I'm just starting with a coach for my business, which has been Ebay for several years now. In fact, she's the one who sent me to this 30 day challenge :o)

It's really late tonight and i have to be up for work early in the morning, so i'm not signing up tonight. Why you say? Because i'm so new to this, that i'm not sure i understood all the instructions! LOL Now that is just scary. So... i'm anxious to see what happens here, and hopefully you will be too :o)

As i learn, i hope to be able to bring some value to you, and anyone else who joins me here. As i said, i've worked with Ebay, alone, for most of about 8 years now. I was doing it full time for the first 4-5 years, now i'm working a J-O-B, with a 2-hr commute each day, and i'm really wanting to be able to get back to where i can work from home again.

I've never had a coach, so i'm hoping she'll be able to teach me what i need to know to be able to accomplish my goal. You can tell i'm starting pretty much from scratch if i don't know how to even complete a registration completely, without studying! HA! So... come tag along with me and let's see where we end up. I learned from Julie/Julia that ANYONE can start a blog, even if noone is following me to begin with. Hopefully, i will have the same experience that she had! Come along... share comments with me.. and let's grow together :o)

Until next time...
To our success :o)
